Cabin Songs is a memoir of a young musician’s journey to carve out his own path by way of the American road, old Vermonters, a draft horse, and the drug culture of the 1970’s. It’s a snapshot of a generation that built a bridge from the rebellious counter-culture of the 60’s to a new life in rural America including those who migrated to Vermont during that time. It’s narrated from a musician/ poet’s perspective with the romance of cabin life entwined with false starts, dead ends, and dark corners. As he follows in the footsteps of the great ramblers of our time, a path takes its form as he strives to succeed on his own terms while honoring those who befriended him.

A Spencer Lewis promotional appearance for Cabin Songs features readings of selected passages along with live guitar performance in the background. A question and answer segment is encouraged making the event intimate and personal. Where applicable, there is an all music portion from his best selling catalog of instrumental CD’s.
